ABOUT ME

I used to work on film sets, but now I mostly like to

drink strong coffee and climb rock walls in my free time.

Want to chat? I'm interested in all things related to design, tech, art, and the human experience and how it all intersects.

In the beginning..

Graduating with a film degree from UT Austin in 2016, I fully intended to pack up my bags and pursue my dream of being a Production Designer in LA. Unexpectedly during senior year, I stumbled into a data entry job and while I never intended to work in the tech industry, I discovered that I loved the challenge of working at a small startup, putting out fires, wearing multiple hats, and solving problems in a fast paced setting.

And so I changed paths, building up my skillset and moving from data entry to e-commerce operations, customer service, cross department coordination at YETI Custom Shop, and later, project management. And I thought I had it all figured out.

But then a plot twist!

While solving technical and practical problems on a daily basis was engaging and rewarding, there was still something missing. The urge to create, design, and tell stories wasn't being fulfilled. So I did some research about how I could marry my passions and discovered that creative design + problem solving + tech = user experience design.

And then everything changed.

I enrolled in and spent a year completing Bloc.io's UI/UX Designer Track bootcamp and apprenticeship. I spent over 800+ hours learning the fundamentals of user experience and honing my new set of skills in discovery, user research, ideation, prototyping, user testing, and iteration.

And now..

I want to use design to make a positive impact in people's lives. I believe that design is a universal language and we can use it as a tool to solve problems and bring people together by creating user-based empathetic, intentional, and meaningful experiences.
